Development of Offensive Skills and Teamwork

Duration: 90 minutes
Objective: Improve passing accuracy, decision-making in attacking situations, and teamwork, focusing on offensive skills.

1. Warm-up (15 minutes)
Description: General mobility activities to prepare the body, increase blood circulation, and activate muscles.

Exercises:

  • Dynamic Stretching: Focused on improving joint mobility and overall flexibility.

  • Ball Agility Drill: An exercise that combines quick movements and ball control to activate muscles and coordination.

Benefit: This warm-up increases circulation and prepares the body for intensive exercises, while working on mobility and coordination.

2. Technical Work (20 minutes)
Description: Specific exercises to improve fundamental skills needed in offensive play, such as passing accuracy and pick execution.

Exercises:

  • Drill 1: 5-Yard Scoop Drill Improves the technique of picking up balls while moving. This drill is essential for maintaining possession under pressure and improving reaction speed in game situations.

  • Drill 2: Pass Down Pick Down Pass Shot: An exercise that strengthens passing accuracy, pick effectiveness, and the ability to execute quick shots under pressure. Players will practice the pass down, the pick, and pass again, followed by a shot on goal.

Benefit: These drills improve the ability to receive and move the ball under pressure, while developing the ability to execute offensive plays accurately and efficiently.

3. Tactical Work (20 minutes)
Description: Drills focused on team coordination during offensive plays, and quick decision-making in attacking situations.

Exercises:

  • Drill 1: Star Passing Drill: Increases passing accuracy and coordination among players while moving in a star pattern. This drill focuses on teamwork and the speed of executing plays.

  • Drill 2: 3v2 Scramble Drill: Simulates fast attack situations with a numerical advantage (3v2). The goal is to improve decision-making under pressure and off-ball movement to create goal-scoring opportunities.

Benefit: These drills develop the ability to make quick decisions in advantageous situations, and improve communication and coordination within the team. Practicing these exercises allows players to anticipate plays and react effectively.

4. Games/Competition (25 minutes)
Description: Small-sided game where players apply what they've learned, emphasizing quick decision-making, off-ball movement, and teamwork.

Exercise: King of the Field: A game emphasizing the application of passing accuracy, off-ball movement, and team cooperation.

Benefit: The small-sided game allows players to apply what they've learned in real game situations, reinforcing their ability to make quick decisions and work as a team under pressure.

5. Cool-down (10 minutes)
Description: Stretching and muscle relaxation to prevent injuries and aid recovery.

Exercises:

  • Static Stretching: To reduce muscle tension and improve flexibility.

  • Muscle Relaxation: Deep breathing and relaxation exercises to help players recover.

Benefit: The cool-down aids muscle recovery and reduces the risk of injury, while stretching improves overall flexibility.

Benefits of the Session
This session focuses on developing key offensive skills such as passing accuracy, off-ball movement, and executing team plays. Drills like the 5-Yard Scoop Drill and the Pass Down Pick Down Pass Shot improve basic offensive techniques, while the Star Passing Drill and the 3v2 Scramble Drill reinforce team coordination and quick decision-making under pressure. Finally, the small-sided game allows players to apply what they've learned in a competitive environment.
